Gugulethu Sofia Mbatha is better recognized by her stage name and screen name Gugu Mbatha Raw. Her popularity grew for her role in the BBC television series of science fiction called Doctor Who. Chelsea Joy Handler was born on the 25th of February, 1975, in Livingston, New Jersey. She was the eldest child in a family of six. Handler was the daughter of a car salesman and a housewife. Her mother was an German immigrant who came to the United States in 1958. After more than ten years combating breast cancer, Handler died in 1989. Handler is a Jew of the Reform movement, and her father was Jewish. Handler was born in a lovely neighborhood and she had a very pleasant childhood. Her move into Los Angeles when she was 19 years old, in order to pursue a career in acting. Handler employed as an actor to earn a living for herself. Handler began performing stand-up as a full-time comedian when she turned 21. She had discovered that she is gifted at telling stories. Handler's stand-up career began when she was part of the all-female Oxygen TV cast in the reality show with a hidden camera and practical humor show Girls Behaving Unstably. The reality series ran from 2002 until 2005. The handler then began appearing on other TV shows such as Weekends at the D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was also a a corresponded on The Tonight Show. Handler received her first big break in 2006 when she started hosting her own show on E! named The Chelsea Handler Show. The Chelsea Handler Show ran for two years. Handler followed this up by performing in the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour, which was a tour in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend & HBO have aired Handler's stand-up performances. In 2010 she was selected to host the 2010. MTV Video Music Awards. Roseanne was the first female ever to host VMAs.
